As is well known, many fields are using UVLED light sources now, but who knows its advantages? Today I will make a few points for everyone. UVLED point, line, and surface light sources are currently used in various industries, which is also a market trend for UVLED light sources to replace traditional UV mercury lamps. Below, we will analyze the differences between UVLED light sources and traditional UV mercury lamps from six aspects: thermal radiation, service life, environmental protection, irradiation intensity, energy consumption, and irradiation time.

(1) Thermal radiation
High power light-emitting diodes do not generate thermal radiation and emit a pure ultraviolet light source. The surface temperature of the irradiated product rises below 5 ° C, thereby improving the product's qualification rate. The traditional UV mercury lamp curing system, on the other hand, is not a pure UV band emission light source, with a large amount of infrared band mixed in between, which can raise the surface temperature of the product up to 60-90 ° C, causing the product's position to shift and producing a large number of defective products. The UVLED curing method is very suitable for thermal sensitive, ink printing, and high precision bonding processes such as plastic substrates, lens bonding, electronic products, fiber optic cables, etc.

(2) Service life
The traditional UV curing system uses UV mercury lamps for curing. The general service life of UV mercury lamps is 800-2000 hours, and the bulb must be replaced. However, the service life of UVLED curing system can reach 20000-3000 hours, without the need to replace the lamp tube. When using UVLED curing method, there is no need for preheating, and it can only light up instantly when ultraviolet light is needed. When DUIY=1/5 (preparation time=5 irradiation time=1), the service life of LED method is equivalent to 30-40 times that of mercury lamp method. UVLED light source curing significantly improves work efficiency and is also more energy-efficient. However, traditional UV mercury lamp curing systems require slow start-up (not instantaneous lighting, preheating is required), and the number of opening and closing times affects the lifespan of the light bulb, which must be continuously lit, resulting in unnecessary energy waste.

(3) Environmentally friendly and pollution-free
The traditional UV mercury lamp curing machine uses mercury lamps to emit light, and the bulbs contain mercury. Due to the frequent replacement of the bulbs, a large amount of waste is generated, which is very troublesome to handle and transport. Improper handling can cause serious environmental pollution. The LED UV curing machine uses semiconductor light emission, which does not cause environmental pollution. Therefore, using LED curing machines is more environmentally friendly.

(4) High irradiation intensity
UVLED light source machine adopts high-power LED chips and unique optical design, which can achieve high precision and intensity irradiation of ultraviolet light; The ultraviolet light output reaches an irradiation intensity of 10000mW/m2. The UVLED light source adopts new optical technology and manufacturing process, achieving more optimized centralized output and uniformity than traditional UV mercury lamp irradiation methods, almost twice the brightness of traditional mercury lamp irradiation, allowing UV adhesive to solidify faster, shortening production time, and significantly improving production efficiency.

(5) Low energy consumption
The UVLED curing method has a luminous efficiency more than 10 times higher than the traditional mercury lamp method. At the same time, regardless of whether the mercury lamp is effectively illuminated or not, the mercury lamp needs to be continuously lit, and the electricity is always in a state of consumption. The UVLED mode only consumes electricity during irradiation, and the electricity consumption is almost zero during standby, which is ready to use. A simple calculation can be made: the electricity saved by each point light curing machine is 270 (watts) * 8 (hours) * 365 (days)=800 (kilowatt hours). It can be seen that by comparing the electricity consumption alone, each machine can save thousands of yuan in expenses per year. Moreover, by saving electricity, each car can indirectly reduce its annual carbon dioxide emissions by 1.4 tons, which is equivalent to the annual emissions of a sedan.

(6) Exposure time
The traditional mercury lamp point light curing machine, when adding irradiation channels, will result in a decrease in the energy output of a single irradiation channel. And using an LED type irradiation machine, each irradiation head emits light independently, and the irradiation energy is not affected by the increase of channels, always maintaining at the predetermined value. Compared with mercury lamps, the UVLED curing method reduces the exposure time during operation and improves production efficiency due to its ultra strong and concentrated illumination.
